DigiKnow tracks all questions asked and the level of satisfaction with each response given, according to the company. Once a member submits a question and receives a response through DigiKnow, he or she completes a quick survey to rate a level of satisfaction with the process, company officials say.</p>
<p>TruWest says it pulls these reports twice a month to determine which questions and responses are most helpful to its members and what adjustments are necessary. DigiKnow also serves as an after-hours resource, company officials say, and reduces the number of calls TruWest receives.</p>
<p>“DigiKnow provides TruWest credit union with an alternative to using a help desk on the internal side, which allows them to better allocate staff. TruWest worked closely with us to design the DigiKnow reports they receive, ensuring that the information provided would facilitate improved service levels, said Peter Schmitt, president of Digital Dialogue. “Members today demand 24/7 access to their finances, and offering different avenues for sharing information with members is a competitive advantage credit unions need to survive.</p>

<p>By the time the Games end on Aug. 24, somewhere between 2,900 and 3,600 hours of high-definition video will have been broadcast to the television network and to millions of desktop, laptop and handheld screens.</p>
<p>No one can be more specific about the actual airtime, because it is simply a best guess that depends upon the length of each competition, the weather and the amount of coverage each event ultimately receives from producers.</p>
<p>Whatever the total airtime is, it will be more than the entire television airtime from all previous televised Olympiads (since Rome in 1960) combined.</p>
<p>Cisco, the world&#8217;s largest IP networking hardware and software company, is providing its IP video network backbone to enable this coverage. Virtually all of the video will travel through transcontinental fiber-optic cable from mainland China to Los Angeles and New York City, where it will be edited and broadcast in a mammoth programming effort involving hundreds of producers, editors and technicians.</p>
<p>Cisco&#8217;s WAAS (Wide Area Application Services) infrastructure enables NBC personnel in New York and Los Angeles to capture video, voice and data in Beijing and deliver it through the same virtual pipe to three kinds of screens: televisions, PCs and <a href="http://www.mxdigital.co.uk/iptelephony.html">smart phones.</a></span></span></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By the advent of VoIP or internet telephony with broadband, the threat to fixed line telephone connections is strongly felt by many telecommunication service providers worldwide.</p>
<p><span> Due to their limited presence in the fixed-line telephony market, Hanarotelecom and LG Dacom could afford to be aggressive in pushing VoIP. However, KT, which owns more than 90 percent of the fixed-line market, is worried that Internet telephony services may cannibalize its main customer pool.</span></p>
<p>Cheaper rates, especially on long-distance calls, are a strong selling point for VoIP and KT is concerned that increased bargain hunting among customers could hurt profits.</p>
<p>Last month, KT warned that it may not achieve its guidance of 12 trillion won in sales and an operating profit of 1.5 trillion for fiscal 2008 and stated the rise of VoIP customers as one of the reasons. The company revised forecast projects sales of 11.9 trillion won and an operating profit of 1.2 trillion won.</p>
<p>KT also successfully pressured the Korean Communications Commission (KCC) to delay its adoption of number portability, originally expected to be implemented this month, arguing that VoIP providers have yet to complete data tracking systems to provide direction on emergency calls.</p>
<p>This has given KT more time to push its own version of VoIP, dubbed &#8220;SoIP (service over IP),” which provides video calls and data transfer atop of voice, to prevent its customers from migrating to other carriers.</p>
<p>KT released a phone last week that provides video calls at a rate that is just one-third of those on third-generation (3G) mobile handsets and also provides interactive features such as online banking services.</p>
<p>However, KT’s commitment to VoIP is not yet full-fledged, with the company struggling to decide how to balance its customer pool for Internet telephony and public switched telephone network (PSTN).</p>
<p>And it’s questionable if video calls will prove to be a killer application for Internet telephony when nobody seems to be using them on mobile phones. Other applications, such as online banking, aren’t expected to make much of a difference when they are already easily accessible on computers.</p>
<p>Unlike other carriers providing <a href="http://www.mxdigital.co.uk/iptelephony.html">VoIP, internet telephony </a>, KT is not planning to allow free calls between its Internet phone subscribers, fearing a massive drop in average revenue per user (ARPU).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In simple terms, VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol is a technology that allows you to make phone calls over broadband Internet connections. Using a high-speed Internet connection, and for specific VoIP software, as well as equipment, people can talk for a limited unlimited costs.</p>
<p>To call using VoIP technology you need:</p>
<p>Voip equipment: &#8211; VoIP equipment, mainly analogue telephone adapter (ATA), which connects the telephone to your broadband modem. This does not require a computer in order to be with or receiving calls. Most popular VoIP application works only with ATA. In ATA converts analog signals into digital signals. Most VoIP services include the ATA in its VoIP products, but some require you to buy or rent the ATA.</p>
<p>In other option is a hardware based IP phone, which is similar to a standard phone, but includes built ATA adapter. The IP phone is connected directly to the router with a standard RJ-45 Ethernet connector. You can buy cards that require your VoIP service to begin to talk through this means.</p>
<p>VoIP software: &#8211; Software based VoIP works slightly differently. Software VoIP as Skype, Asterik works through a computer with a microphone and your computer must be switched on to receive calls. The main VoIP software allows two people with the same installed software to call each other over the Internet. Callers can create a phone book, and you can make calls to other users.</p>
<p>VoIP services are relatively cheaper than traditional calls. So, the next time you want to make telephone calls or international calls using VoIP.</p>
